  9. This directory contains data files used by IDL example code
  10. included in the IDL distribution tree. Data files used by
  11. documentation examples are also located in this directory.
  12.  
  13. Files in this directory use a variety of data formats.
  14. In general, files with the extension ".dat" are either IDL
  15. SAVE/RESTORE files or pure binary data. Files with extensions
  16. ".tif", ".gif", etc. are image files in the format specified
  17. by the extension.
  18.  
  19. Consult the file index.txt for a listing of the data files
  20. in this directory, including the type of image, image size,
  21. and format.
  22.
